Example questions
Things to ask your own AI once the Teddit MCP server is connected, each with the tools it would call. The examples use a fictional site, Brightloop, an email marketing platform.
Before you ask
- Connect the server first: Connect the MCP server.
- Name the site in your first question. A workspace can hold several, and your AI has to pick one.
- Your AI decides which tools to call. The right-hand column shows the likely ones; every tool is described in the tools reference.
- Reading costs nothing, so ask as much as you like. The questions that change something or spend money are marked.
Teddit returns data: answers, sources, counts. The reading of it, the comparisons and the advice are written by your AI.
How the week went
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “How did Brightloop do this week compared with last week? Give me the main numbers.” | list_projects to find the site, then get_dashboard |
| “Which prompts stopped naming us this week, on which assistants?” | get_dashboard (the changes.lost list) |
| “Which prompts have not named us for two weeks or more?” | get_trends (stability.lost), or list_prompts with stability: "lost" |
| “In which categories are we named least?” | get_trends (topics) |
| “What did the report look like in the week of 5 October?” | get_dashboard with week: "2026-10-05" |
What the answers say
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “Find the prompt about newsletter deliverability and quote what Claude says about Brightloop.” | list_prompts with q, then get_prompt with engine: "anthropic" |
| “Compare how ChatGPT and Gemini describe us on that prompt. Quote the sentences.” | get_prompt twice, once per engine |
| “For the prompts where a competitor is named and we are not, which third-party pages do the assistants cite?” | list_prompts with verdict: "lost", then get_prompt for each (the sources groups) |
| “What did ChatGPT search the web for before it answered our pricing prompts?” | list_prompts with category, then get_prompt with engine: "openai" (searches) |
| “Which prompts link to our site without naming us?” | list_prompts with verdict: "cited" |
get_prompt returns one assistant’s answer per call, so questions that span many prompts and assistants take many calls. Narrow them with a category or a filter.
Competitors and your pages
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “Who has the largest share of voice, and where does Brightloop stand?” | get_dashboard (leaderboard) |
| “Where is Mailora named and we are not? Group the prompts by category.” | list_prompts with verdict: "lost" and competitor: "Mailora" |
| “Put us head to head with Quillsend: by assistant, by category, and which of their pages get cited.” | list_competitors for the id, then get_competitor_report |
| “Which brands keep coming up that we do not track? Add the two most frequent.” | list_competitors (suggestions), then add_competitor twice. Changes data: needs a Read + edit key. |
| “Which of our pages do the assistants link to, and which blog posts are never linked?” | list_pages with shown: "yes" and shown: "no" |
Managing prompts
These change your prompt list and need a key with Read + edit access.
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “Propose ten new questions for our weakest category. Show them to me, and add them as drafts when I say yes.” | get_trends, then add_prompts with status: "draft". The prompt template grow_prompt_set does the same. |
| “Pause every prompt in the category “webinars”.” | list_prompts with category, then bulk_update_prompts with status: "paused" |
| “Here is a list of search queries. Tell me how many are new, then import them as drafts.” | import_queries with dryRun: true, then again without it |
| “Rewrite the imported queries as full questions and show me the before and after.” | rewrite_queries with dryRun: true to preview, then without. Needs a Read + scan key and a balance above zero; it is not charged. |
| “Activate the drafts I approved: numbers 41, 42 and 45.” | bulk_update_prompts with status: "active" |
Scans and cost
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “What would a scan of the pricing category cost on ChatGPT and Claude only?” | estimate_scan with category and providers |
| “Which cheaper models could we use, and what would the same scan cost with them?” | get_scan_options, then estimate_scan with models |
| “Run that scan, stop at 2 dollars, and check on it until it is done.” | start_scan with budgetUsd: 2, then get_live_scan. Spends money: needs a Read + scan key. |
| “How much have Brightloop’s scans cost this month, and how many scans do we have left?” | get_scan_options (spentThisMonth, scansThisMonth, scansPerMonth) |
| “List the last scans with their status and cost.” | list_scans |
A scan started by your AI is a real scan. It is paid from the workspace balance and counts against the workspace’s scans per month and the site’s monthly cap, exactly like one started in the app. Ask for an estimate first.
Charts and write-ups
| Ask your AI | Tools it would use |
|---|---|
| “Draw the share of answers naming us, one line per assistant.” | render_chart with chart: "report.assistants.mentionRate" |
| “Draw Brightloop against Mailora over time.” | list_competitors for the id, then render_chart with chart: "competitor.trend" and competitorId |
| “Make a bar chart of how many prompts each category has.” | list_prompts (facets.categories), then render_chart with custom |
| “Write a short review of the week for my manager: what moved, why, and three things to do. Include a chart.” | The prompt template weekly_review: get_dashboard, get_trends, list_prompts, render_chart |
Whether a chart appears in the chat depends on your client: it has to display images returned by tools. The numbers are always returned as text next to the image.
